Chateau La Tour de L'Eveque
This property is situated at Pierrefeu, which lies between Saint Tropez and Toulon. The owner Regine Sumeire has been running the estate since she took over from her father. The estate was once the property of the Bishop of Toulon, but during the revolution become “Property of the State” and was sold. Since then it has changed owners only once. The vineyards cover 89 hectares, of which the majority is planted to Grenache, Syrah and Cinsaut, with Carignan, Cabernet and Mouvedre making up the red wine producing vines. Around 7 hectares are planted with Ugni Blanc, Rolle and Semillon, which are for the white wines. The cellars have all been modernised recently and in the vineyards Regine now has her organic certification.
